Composition

Composition for the course Electroacoustic Music Composition at the Conservatory G.Verdi of Turin.

The main exploration points in this composition were the transformation of sonic matter in time, the interaction between the string quartet and the electronics and the exploration of gesture as objects.

The underlying harmonic structure follow an interpolation between 2 spectral materials.

While composing the piece I developed a compositional workspace using Bach in Max msp synced to Reaper playback. This allowed me to produce a solid mockup, while also taking care of form by defining sample positioning in reaper as symbolic gestures in the score.
